The majority of of Americans, 56 percent, say Joe Biden has done nothing for them since he took office. That’s according to a CNN poll that also found only 37 percent of voters approve of Biden’s handling of the economy and 62 percent disapprove.
Additionally, 58 percent of Americans do not approve of Biden’s job performance overall. The poll also found only 6 percent of Americans believe Biden was helpful with COVID-19 while 70 percent of respondents said they just feel burnt out.
Political analysts say polling numbers do not look good for Democrats going into the midterm elections. Meanwhile, Biden delivered remarks in Virginia claiming he will “work like the devil” to bring down record-high inflation.
Biden called for action while touting his policies and said his proposal will hold drug companies accountable as well as “ease the burden on working families.” He called on the Senate to pass his Build Back Better legislation while claiming it will put a halt to soaring prices of prescription drugs across the nation. Biden continued by saying the idea companies can charge whatever they want is just not going to happen in the U.S.
“Drug companies that increase their prices faster than the rate of inflation, once the price is set, will face a steep tax,” he explained. “This will help us end the days when drug companies could increase their prices with no oversight, no accountability and no responsibility. We’re saying to drug companies: You are finally going to become accountable when you raise prices on the American people.”
Meanwhile, Biden’s BBB plan is currently stalled in the Senate as Republicans share concern it will add to already skyrocketing inflation. While data reveals U.S. inflation hit its 40-year-high at 7 percent last month, Biden claimed his package “will not increase debt.” He also admitted fuel prices have increased significantly since he took office.

According to Republicans lawmakers, Biden’s decisions to block Keystone XL pipeline and ban drilling on federal lands are the main reasons behind high gas prices. Still, Biden appeared to blame the surge in fuel costs on “supply chain disruptions.” Meanwhile, fuel prices have hit their highest level in eight years.
